'Ayekoo' To All Teachers Around The World

We say 'ayekoo' to all those who play a key role in the learning process of every child, in this country and around the world. Special 'ayekoo' to those who have taken it upon themselves and have dedicated their lives to the profession of teaching. We appreciate your efforts in empowering future leaders and active global citizens.

We know that being a teacher provides the unique opportunity to make a transformative and lasting impact on the lives of others, contributing to shaping sustainable futures and offering personal fulfilment.

However, the world faces an unprecedented global teacher shortage exacerbated by a decline in their working conditions and status. We take this opportunity to call on governments to prioritise the work of teachers and all provide them with the necessary support which would make their work less frustrating.

Parents and guardians on the other hand must be present and actively involved in the basic learning stages of their children. They must provide emotional and psychological support, as well as extra financial support, where the need be, for a fruitful learning process.

We take this opportunity to send big a appreciation to all those who have served as volunteers and facilitators in the Community Action Teams (CAT - formerly known as Public Health Club - PHC). Your work as supporting partners, to teachers and schools, over the years; in nurturing young leaders shall not go unnoticed. May you continue to be blessed!!

Happy Teachers' Day! Ayekoo!
